1. Are drug companies that test experimental drugs in foreign countries acting ethically? Drug companies that test experimental drugs in foreign countries are not acting ethically. Testing of experimental drugs should be done in the country where the drugs are being manufactured. The major ethical dilemma is that the foreign countries that these clinical trials are not fully educated on the risks and understand what they are getting themselves into. In the article, many things stood out that these countries may not know what they are signing up for. Lawsuits are going to be present everywhere regardless what the circumstances are. I do not think that these drug companies should have immunity from lawsuits. In the article â€Å"Supreme Courts Hears Case on Vaccine Lawsuits,† it details how some side effects that vaccines have caused complications after the vaccine was given. It states that these cases could â€Å"open the floodgates to thousands of lawsuits.† It is the drug companies’ responsibility to create drugs that are not harmful to the society that they are given and there should be legal implications if they do not. The utilitarian theory shows us that these vaccines help to prevent disease, which would maximize happiness in the effect society. When something goes wrong and there is a dangerous side effect, the drug company should be liable for that. Like the utilitarian states, all consequences should be considered before acting on a decision. The drug companies have a responsibility to consider all options and side effects before deciding to administer any type of drug. Maya Angelou and Langston Hughes, pillars of society

Neither Langston Hughes nor Maya Angelou were just poets in the world of the twentieth century but instead heroes and leaders who showed the world that race wasn t what made you but whom you are instead. Though both grew up during times and events in the world, both have similar ideas while also different. Though both poets were put down by society, neither let what people said get to them. Both instead wrote poems about how what people say doesn t matter. Maya told those people that despite what you say, I will still rise. You may write me down in history With your bitter, twisted lies, You may trod me in the very dirt But still, like dust, I ll rise. You may shoot me with your words, You may cut me with your eyes, You may kill†¦show more content†¦Despite his own very liberal beliefs, Hughes defended African American activists who held more conservative views. Langston Hughes was not just a poet but an artist, who used words to express himself, but other forms of art influenced him, and his work crossed over into other mediums. Langston Hughes influenced many other people with his art -- young writers and artists looked up to him. African Americans found in him a voice for their own experiences and culture -- a voice that hadn t been heard until Langston Hughes. He inspired many other artists of all races to write, draw, play, and sing. Unlike Langston Hughes, Maya Angelou devoted her life to inspiring African Americans to do whatever they wanted to do no matter what other people said. She also wanted to inspire people. Her poems Phenomenal Woman and Still I Rise inspired not only the African American people, which is was intended to, but the whole world including men. Like Hughes, Maya Angelou did not think that one day she would be reading one of her poems at President Clinton s inauguration. But she did think that she would inspire young African American writers that they too could become wonderful writers in a white society. Angelou is hailed as one of the great voices of contemporary black literature and as a remarkable Renaissance woman. Both of these people have inspired many people in the world including me. The Educational Aspect of Becoming a Nurse The educational aspect of nursing varies because of the differences and limitations with regards to the different nursing roles and specialization. Individuals may opt to start in school with an ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing), Hospital Diploma, or a BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing). An Associate Degree only requires two years of schooling. The obtainment of a diploma requires three years, and the Bachelor of Science Degree requires four years. Nursing schools require the completion of several courses, mostly related to sciences, and the attainment of standards regarding grade point averages. Acting in non-discriminatory manner would be morally correct as the information would only be used for legitimate business reasons as per the Kantans ethical analysis. It would be morally and ethically wrong to use the personal information of the employee given on social media for employment determination. Not notifying the candidates in this case can be considered treating the employee without dignity and respect. It is the accuracy of the online information being questionable. There is less possibility of collecting the relevant and updated information. There is also high likelihood of uncovering the material that the employee may not wish to divulge (Thomas et al., 2015). The desired information can be taken by the employer in any alternative format if there is no option to look at the social media site of the employee. It is only in a matter of time that the social media screening in employment has begun. Not all the companies has the social media screening policy, so LinkedIn can be used for hiring and not background check. It is the universally accepted site to check the candidates CV and scrutinise their qualifications. It is the professional networking site and eliminates the chance of inaccurate/unreliable information gained by the social media platforms like Facebook, and Twitter (Buettner, 2016). It will prevent breach of privacy rights and legal actions. Alternate option would be simply recruiting through companys websites, job boards, job search engines, Newspapers, walk in applications and referrals.
